About

I love beauty in all forms and find it in my travels, through the lens of my camera, and the faces of people I meet and work with. As a professional makeup artist, creating and seeking beauty are just part of every day life.

I find inspiration in traveling, especially to Italy. In addition to the natural beauty of the countryside and the man made artistry of Bernini, Michelangelo and Botticelli , I am inspired by the people of Italy – with their beautiful olive skin, glorious hair, and expressive brows.

To me traveling is not only about seeing the sights and monuments. It’s about connecting with the people, small exchanges in a foreign language, and traveling slowly in order to understand the culture and enjoy the scenery (whether it’s cityscape or the countryside) – this is what truly inspires me to travel. I believe learning the language of the locals adds immeasurable joy and depth to the travel experience.

Adventures of a Carry-on is a place I’ve created to fill with all the things I find  beautiful and inspiring – art, architecture, culture, new friends and photographs.

Besides stories and photographs from my trips to Italy, you will find local information on Dallas (my hometown), California, (my second home) and any place that catches my fancy. Since I’m self employed and I work to travel, but travel is not my work, I’m always looking for new ways to create a unique travel experience, and create content for this blog.

I think this quote from Emerson really says it all: “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or find it not.”

Adventures of a Carry-on currently accepts the following forms of advertising:

Product Reviews – services, tours, hotels, and tourist attractions.
