The weekly photo challenge brought back memories of a job I worked on last year.
It was in many ways a dream job. I was hired to work on a new marketing campaign for a luxury cruise line. Two weeks at sea – no laundry, no cooking, no filling up the car, no housekeeping, bills paid – how much better could it be?
We traveled from Miami to Los Angeles via the Panama Canal. I took the opening photo and the sunset photos as we sailed in and out of port in Costa Rica.
I haven’t had a chance to try the specific technique suggested by Krista Luna, but the first photo of the port at early morning is pretty close. I didn’t have a tripod, so I used the balcony banister to balance my camera. The other photos are images I felt fit the theme of the week even though they weren’t shot with long exposure.
I think water has an inherently dream-like quality. Whether poolside, at the beach, listening to the sounds of a fast moving river, or a soothing fountain, water has a calming and meditative quality. I was not surprised that so many of the photos for this weeks challenge featured beach scenes. It was the first thing I thought of when I read the theme was Dreaming.

Thank you so much. Enjoyed your photos as well.
Thank you!
Thanks to my WP support. My blog is new, since March so I’m still finding my way through. Just really happy and surprised at how much validation there is here on WP. I will do my best to reciprocate!
I love the last one!
Thank you. I wasn’t sure about that one. Isn’t it funny how we all perceive things in our own way?
Nice photos…you have me dreaming now.
I truly love your site.. Great colors & theme. Did you build this amazing site yourself?
Please reply back as I’m wanting to create my own personal blog and would like to find out where you got this from or what the theme is called. Thank you!
Thanks for visiting and the great feedback. yes, I did build the site. I’m happy to answer any questions for you. I am actually in the process of moving the site to self hosting any day now.
